UAZ manufactures the UAZ-469 off-road military light utility vehicle. It was employed by the Soviet and Warsaw Pact armed forces and paramilitary formations in Eastern Bloc countries. The Soviet Union also saw widespread use in governmental institutions that required a tough and long-lasting off-road vehicle. Seating for seven personnel was standard in military variants.
