Originally constructed for the RCMP’s counterterrorism unit, the Dwyer Hill installation is a former horse farm now home to Joint Task Force 2, a special forces unit of the Canadian Forces. JTF2, the elite unit known for its counter-terrorism operations, was created in 1993.
