The BRDM-2 scout car was created to take the position of the BRDM-1. The Soviet army formally adopted it in 1962, and in 1963, it started to be produced. In 1989, production was stopped. A total of 10,000 units, including variations, were produced. Currently, the Russian army and more than 50 other nations use this amphibious reconnaissance vehicle.
