The F-35A is the  Air Force’s newest fifth-generation fighter. It will replace b oth the A-10 Thunderbolt II and the F-16 Fighting Falcon, which have been the top fighter jets for the Air Force for more than 20 years, have enhanced survivability in the environment of high-threat operations.
